The film "I, Robot" is a science fiction movie made in 2004, played by famous Hollywood actor, Will Smith. This film tells the
journey of a detective who tries to solve a murder case. This film background at the years 2035 , where humans and robots live
together. Interaction between humans and computers is seen in the film, almost all work performed by humans can be helped by the robot computer sophistication. Robots can help people work from home job or any other
job.
This is one of implementation for human-computer
interaction that happen in this film :
1. Robot NS 5s.
In this film, Robot NS 5s serves as public service
robot. This robot works to help human’s occupation. Because it’s function as a
human servant, of course the interaction between humans and computers is seen.
Where human and computer are provide input and feedback each other to obtain
the desired results.
2. V.I.K.I ( Virtual Interactive
Kinetic Intellengence )
In this film, V.I.K.I is an advanced system that can
do the human commands only by order through the human voice. V.I.K.I is also a
super computer that can control robots NS 5s in helping people works. One of it’s
advantages is the system has artificial intelegence that can think very smart
and logical. Because of that, the computer system is evolving and turning back
attack humans because the system think they were controled by human. Though
V.I.K.I was created to help the human needs or human task.
3. Many more.
The conclusion and my
opinion of this film and about “human-computer interaction” is a technoogy
created to help human works and to meet human needs. The more advanced the
technology, the better human life. But the ease which given by the technology
is may not to reduse or even elimate the natural fuction of human and ruin the
lives of other living creatures. Thus, the interaction of humans and computers
can be good, balanced and optimal.
